Get answers by email
Every form can email its answers to people on your team: each answer as it arrives, or a daily or weekly digest with how many came in and the latest few in full.
Set it up
- Open a form and go to Destinations. A new form already emails the person who made it, for every answer.
- To change who gets the emails, tick the people. Only people on your team with a confirmed email address can get them; to add someone, invite them on the Team page first.
- Choose how often: Every response, Daily digest or Weekly digest. You can have several email destinations on one form, for example a daily digest for you and every response for a colleague.
Every response
- An email titled “New response” with the form’s name, every answer and a link to it in your account. Hidden values are included.
- If the form asks for an email address, replying to the email writes to the person who answered.
Daily and weekly digests
- A daily digest goes out at 8:00 every morning and covers the 24 hours before it. A weekly digest goes out on Mondays at 8:00 and covers the week before.
- Each digest says how many answers came in and shows the latest 5 in full. The rest are a click away in your account.
- Nothing is sent for a day or a week without answers.
- Answers from before you switched to a digest aren’t repeated: they were already emailed one by one.
Your time zone
Digests go out at 8:00 in your account’s time zone, and the times in them are shown in it too. It’s set from your computer when you sign up; owners can change it under Account → Time zone.
If emails don’t arrive
- The Destinations tab lists every delivery: sent, kept for a digest, or failed, with the reason.
- Check your spam folder, and add the address the emails come from to your contacts.
- Answers are always in your account, under Responses, whatever happens to the email.
People who answer a form can also get a copy of their own answers: see building forms.
